Hi all, thought I'd give you a little update, and ask for a
favour. :o) Ive also posted this on the Yahoo group so apologies for those who have already read it  oops

After various encounters (including a Darguul city and a Degenerate
Darguul which VERY nearly killed one of my PC's! Learnt from that one
I can tell ya!) my group has managed to fight/stumble/climb/stagger
their way to the surface, with all the PC's intact.(Well, sort of,
one of them has got a mysterious black rock shard that has melded
into his hand) only to be surrounded by a group of 30 ravens (M's
Oruks)

Morgatha was all up for sacrificing the whole group to her nexus, but
they managed to do a trade of a wand that one of the PC's had found,
the expression on the rest of the group's (players) faces, when they
realised it wasnt the "stick" they had been led to believe by that player, was
priceless.

Well, the group has been "requested" (nice choice, death or do a
task) to get 6 uniforms for Morgatha, (idea ripped from the Forge
sourcebook) within a week. On the way to Steel Hill, they managed to
stumble into the Dead Wood, (after being chased by 3 unseen wolves)
but managed to extradite themselves without too much trouble (they
think,) although the PC with the shard did manage to "get it on" with
a tree (dont ask) before being thrown out of said tree!

They then met the The Lady of the River (who was crying and wailing,
which is a potent of death, or something equally depressing)and
managed to p*** her off :o)

Staggering off after some scary (for them) dialogue/interaction, the
group scared the living daylights out of a couple of skiving goblin
scouts and gave (rather pathetically,) chase. They lost them, (after
throwing some stones at them. Yeah, I know!)

However, they found the bodies later with both arms ripped off, which
appeared to have been beaten to death with the appendages. Nice. In
the distance they hear the call of a large raven...

The group scarper and eventually stumble into the Sprawl. One of the
group makes contact with the Thieves Guild (believe it not, it wasnt
the rogue, who is playing his char's class appallingly badly) and
have managed to get a hotel. However, things are not what they seem...

According to my group it's going really well (and if it wasnt, they
would "let" me know!) so pleased about that. :o)

However, I would like to know whether anyone has any
suggestions/advice/experience to divulge, for encounters/mini
adventures/characters in the Sprawl, Tarish Town and Steel Hill? I
have some ideas, but want some more inspiration. These would be most
gratefully recieved.

Cheers

I will come up with something you may use and post it in the next two days, promise. Wink

Sounds like you have a nice game going, LTJ.

As for more ideas, well, Steel Hill is full of factions, and even within those factions there are rifts. Perhaps you could start to reaveal more of the divides in the Shadow's forces to them?

Thanks chaps   Wink

Got some ideas about a Morgatha/Kerug (or whatever his name is)/Whoremistress/Cleite conflict. TRying to decide whether to go long game for this situation (chance to shut the mines on a temp basis, or assist in taking out a secondary minor mirror that has been established ) or get it wrapped up and moved on to another part of my overarching plot. As ever, it depends on what the PC's do I suppose  Tongue

Perhaps they can barter for her aid with something they find in the Eye?

I feel compelled to point out that the Morgatha incident was inspired by the above sentence by Bleak in a previous post, so I wish to thank him/her for that.

An "interesting" situation has developed where two members of the group are getting disenchanted with the campaign, (this is through second hand feedback from the rest of the group i must point out, nothing has been said to me f2f.) This is mainly because they are (well, are actually i suppose in all sense and purposes) wargamers. They essentially just want to kill things and roll dice (one of them certainly, the other does want to roll play sometimes) The thing is is that I went through in meticulous detail about the setting and how my campaign was going to develop, (low magic, dark and gritty, not permanantly dungeon crawling and intially a LOT of roleplay, gradually becoming more martial as they lean to survive.) Unfort this doesnt appear to have sunk in and they are getting peeved off. Ive bunged one of them in the fighting pits as a hostage, so he gets to roll some dice. Any ideas for the other to keep him happy?  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the thanks, LTJ. (Oh, and yes, I'm a guy Tongue)

Put the combat-thirsty guy in a street fight or something? Let some guy recruit him as a volunteer/gladiator for the pits and have him fight his buddy? Use him to capture some cloaks/tabbards/whatever insignia from traitor Dorns in the town?

One way to get said insignia could be to start a bar-fight somewhere, and steal from those who are knocked out. Someone's gotta do the knocking...

Thanks for the thanks, LTJ. (Oh, and yes, I'm a guy Tongue)

We have a few biologists and some antropologists attending to that issue and theya re not yet certain, mind you. Tongue

I was thinking of doing you somethign more localized, actually beggining and ending in the sprawl, something that could make them get a little fighting, give some people a little hope, turn them into heroes in the eys of some children, and when tehy leave and go somewhere else, it is like they never made something of any importance. I trust this could be easily usable by others and also, changed to be part of a greater plot. Would it be of any use to you?
