I'm still working this around in my head, so this might just be a loose collaboration of thoughts.
Assume these "facts":
Fact #1: There is no veil. The reason that there is no planar contact is because there are no planes.
Fact #2: The planes, and all (including Gods) who resided there, have been destroyed.
Fact #3: Aryth is not just one more planar destination, it is the planar safe house (or the Restaurant at the End of the Universe). The last "bomb shelter" in the multiverse.
Fact #4: Dorns came from Pelloria. Pelloria is one of the many destroyed planes.
Fact #5: While the Gods were trying to stop the planar cataclysm, Izrador fled.

That's all I have right now.
Why Izzy wants to sap the magic from the world, no clue. What this cataclysm was, no clue.
just some thoughts i'm still working on. any input, as always, is appreciated.

I'm going to pimp my own stuff here: Pimpage

Using that, you could have the Dorns be the original destroyers of the multiverse. Izrador could be alive, simply seeking magic to regain his divinity. Or not, it's your call.

A gap in your idea: The Sarcosans also came from Pelluria. They fought a war against their home continent. If I were you, I'd leave Pelluria as a continent on Aryth, but it can very well be the continent where the majority of the Sundering War took place.

It is an interesting take, soudns like Planescape meets Midnight. Wink

One thought, if there are no Planes, does Aryth still exist in a Prime Material Plane, or is it now it's own Plane or Demi-Plane.
If it is still existing in a Prime Material Plane, do other Prime's still exist?

Just some thoughts...

This is an interesting take on things.

Here are some of my thoughts about this.
The plane of Aryth is either still being attacked/destroyed by the some force that has wiped out everything else or it is about to be attacked soon. Izrador is desperately trying to absorb as much magic from the plane as possible so that he will be strong enough to fight off the destructive forces that threatens all life on Aryth.   Izrador is actually trying hard to save the plane and the last living beings in the universe.  To him the ends justifies the means, but he is not totally evil.

Hmmm, how about this... he needs to stop the use of all arcane/channelled magic and drain it from the plane because that is what is attacting the destructive forces to attack.  All of the fey races are innately magical by their very nature (being desended from the elder fey and all) so that need to be destroyed.  This includes the orcs ,which is why he is so willing to throw away their lives against the elves and dwarves.  The only way for Izrador to save himself and the humans is by wiping the out the fey and eliminating all channellers.

This puts a different spin on things making Izrador still appear to be the  evil god we have all come to know and love, but now with a soft, gooey centre.
