I think there's something wrong with the Shadow Knight prestige class requirements

Sneak Attack +2d6, Warrior of Shadow feat and BAB+8 means that a character must have 3 levels of Rogue, 5 levels of Legate and he still needs to get +3 BAB from somewhere in order to reach BAB +8... but that means he can only take a level in Shadow Knight at level 12. Which means he will never be able to reach the 10th level of the prestige class (epic levels aside).

Am I missing something?
Also, is +2d6 sneak attack damage totally anti climatic for a Shadow Knight or what?
I am thinking of ignoring the sneak attack requirement for the prestige class

I agree with you, and you're even missing something in your math. It *also* requires Weapon Specialization, which is a Fighter level 4 feat. So you need to be a 3 rogue, 5 soldier legate, 4 fighter before you can take this PrC.  Which means the earliest you can take it is level 13, leaving only 8 levels available to ever take, excluding Epic levels.

Looking at the rest of the Shadow Knight class, nothing seems to build upon the Sneak Attack ability (ex: additional sneak attack damage against Fey).

I would agree with your approach of ignoring that requirement. If you do that, they still can't take the PrC until level 10 (due to the level 5 soldier legate, level 4 fighter pre-reqs), so it's still a mountain to climb to get there, but not an insurmountable one.

Well actually, if you read closely on the faction for the soldier Legate, at level 6 they actually get Weapon specialization anyway. But yeah even then in order to fulfill the Bab requirements you would need to get several more levels which means you could get into it by level 12.

Good catch, Luiniel, I forgot about that. However, as you said, with the BAB progression we're back to getting the PrC starting at level 12 which just doesn't seem right.

If there was any enhancement of the Sneak Attack ability in the Shadow Knight class, I'd say someone just didn't do their math but it's a proper pre-req. In this case though, since there isn't, I feel like it's an unnecessary pre-req that can get tossed.

In the end, Coimiral Ap Nar, it's your game, so do what fits your world.
