Hello again everyone,
I was fortunate enough to be able to get my user name from the old site on the new site yay.

I am taking a short break at work and tallying up the exp at the conclusion of chapter 4 and was wondering if some had a phb handy and could post the total exp points required to progress from 2nd to 3rd level? I am curious if they have come up short.

My apologies if this is an off topic post in this forum.

And glacialis already said it, for any level just multiply the current level by 1K and you get what they need to leve up again, I always reset their points when they level up, so they always go from 0 to that number, if you do not reset then knowing how much XP beyond what they have is a bit harder, but not much.

They should have 1K xp at 2nd level and need 2k more to level up. Wink

Xp needed from the minimum of the level you're currently on to the next level equals 1000xp times your current level.

The xp needed to go from 0xp to any given level (n) is thus the sum of all the levels up to but not inlcuded lvl n, multiplied by 1000xp.

Example, to reach lvl 4 you need (1+2+3)x1000=6x1000=6000
to reach lvl 12 you need (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11)x1000=66000


So to go from lvl 2 to level 3 you need 2000 xp more than what you needed to reach level 2 (1000xp), for a total of 3000 xp.

I hardly think there are tables in D&D that can't be summed up in a reasonably simple mathematical function.
