Midnight page on DriveThruRPG.

This is something that I wasn't really expecting! Everytime there is some kind of sale on DriveThru the midnight products are excluded. But this, this is some good shit (padon my language).

The only thing i don't understand is why 1st edition pdf costs the same as 2nd edition. My thought is that they should sell the 1st edition for $5 like most of their Legends & Lairs stuff.... or maybe they should have gotten on the Free RPG day and given it for free for one day...

wouldn't that have been a nice energy shot for Midnight.

Edit: OK, i'm not sure it's a Sale... it'll be even better if these will be the new PDF prices. Smiley

Maybe I'm old school, but I can't see paying that much for something I can't hold in my hand.

I can't remember where (of course) but I saw a shop online that was selling the books at only slightly higher than the PDF price, like $10.something per supplement.

I am not much of a pdf guy too, but they have some uses, if they were cheaper than I could even get them in addition to the print book, but right now I would rather spend the money on books and shipping rather than pdfs. The page is down right now though, so I can't check it.

It has nothing to do with old school. I love books and nothing can replace a brand new book, but if your short on money and dont want to pay about an extra $10 shipping just because you do not live in the states, and the FLG (in my entire state) doesn't hold Midnight product... then it might be cheaper and quicker to buy a pdf and have it printed (possibly on quality paper).

Amazon is offering the books for just above $10. DriveThruRPG has priced the pdfs for $9 each and the MN2e for $29 i think... Thats much better than the same price as the print edition they asked for the pdf.

You are right arnon, but I prefer to pay shipping and order books in bundles. Wink

Also, I am with you, making the 1st edition core book a free thing for free rpg day would have been great, but FFG is not much into rpg these days and well, I think they might not even know there was a free rpg day.

With typical American egocentrism, I continually forget that there are people outside North America who enjoy the same things I do. In such a case, I can of course see the benefit of PDFs in terms of accessibility and immediate delivery. My apologies Smiley

Among the usual users of the site I would even dare say US people are the minority... Wink

That project fell through quite some time ago, if I recall correctly.

Yhea, I'm quite satisfied with the new prices for the PDFs. Though I still think they should price the 1st edition for much cheaper.

Now if they would upload Destiny...

*looks to the left, then to the right*

I've found myself having much more fun in the realm of my roleplaying interests with people outside of my hemisphere. It may be because I fall into things that are predominantly populated by Europeans (such as some MMORPGs and then finding other things through the players I meet that way)...

So! On topic!

I adore pdf's for a quick fix, or in the case of something like Grimm... to share it quickly with players who live... in Norway, Denmark, and Finland. Or in California, Colorado, Canada... That's the spread of the players I have for a couple online tries of Grimm. $5 for the PDF isn't an unreasonable amount, by far! Not for Grimm.

While I adore pdf's... I'd much rather use a book. Easier on my eyes, and there's something comforting about it.

*cuddles her books*

Plus, I mean really. Wouldn't it be a great image? A girl rolling around on a bed covered in Midnight books? ...okay, not really. Might ruin the books, then I'd be upset.

...work is giving me cabin fever.
