My campaign got 3 games run right now.  I give you a rapid overview of what happen.

PC :

Lyrianne, wood elf chaneller, HP : dragonbloded
A young elf sidekick of the avatar Rhian.  Will begin with the elven party from Erethor.

Hanzo, Erenlender defender, HP : shadow walker
The son of a legate.  He kill is father when he learn he order the kill of his love.  A pc with a dark past (as suggest is heroic path).  Will begin at a farm that hide a resistance cell.

Fitz, Erenlander wildlander, HP : tactician
Born in central Erenland but live the major part of his life in Durgis Rock.  He is only 16 years old.

Kraag, Dworg barbarian, HP : Beast
Grow up with dire bear.  Dunken find him a couple of year ago.  Is primary language is dire bear.  He only talk a little of Trader's tongue.  Will begin in Durgis Rock.

--------------

Game #1 :

A begin the game by introducing the party of elf with Hanzo and Wendell.  After that a take the PC of Durgis Rock and I give them there mission with Dunken and made them travel to Kurgun fall.  I made a little mistake when I left my Durgis Rock party seeing the elven party coming.  The shadow walker ruin my plan by deciding to hide and approach the Kurgun fall unotice.  I had no choice but to backtrack myself and tell the other PCs that they see nothing coming...Smiley

Everybody meet and it's give a lot of good role playing.  After that everyone goes to sleep...but the goblin and the stone golem came in the morning...

My PCs know exactly what was the stone golem because in our last adventure we met 3 of them and they gave us an hard time.  They were not very impress when Rhian cast some spell that did not work and when they see the 2 others elf firing arrow...but they know that it's was a good idea to flee (actually they got the idea before the elfs).

I finish the game with the dragon encounter I found on this forum.  A big dragon was flying over there head but did not notice them.  It's was a moment for a good quote :
[PC 1]  : maybe it's a decoy
[PC 2]  : You know if it's really a decoy I don't want to meet the guy who use a dragon as a decoy Smiley

-------------------------
Game #2 :

A new PC :

Mozartis, Sarcosan fighter, HP : Healer
Got itself lost when is Sarcosan rider clan was destroy.  I arrive at Durgis Rock about a month ago.

On the last day to Durgis Rock the adventurer met 2 orcs carrying a prisoner.  A quick combat begin and the chaneller use is entangle to reduce the chance of the 2 orcs to survive.  The prisoners was Mozartis.  He inform everyone of fall of Durgis Rock.  At that moment I made Rhian cast a divination spell to force the group to return to Durgis Rock because there first reflex was to avoid the village.

When the PCs finally came back to Durgis Rock they can see the destruction...they want to the marmot hole and face the 8 orcs recruits.  They were able to surprise the orcs but on the first real round 2 of them fell to the ground (I rolled a max damage...16 points of damage).  The DM was scare to kill everybody.  But the sleep spell of the chaneller save the day.

When they return to the surface they found the elfs dead.  They loot them Smiley  They were very impress by the magic item they founded.

I left them with the cut scene with the legate receving a debriefing of his orcs troops (foiund on this site).

----------------------

Game #3

They decide to let Dunken travel with the survivors of the attack and begin there quest to Erethor.  They decide to avoid the Kurgun fall because they don't want to meet the stone golem again (a wise choice).  But I made them face the goblin fell.  An easy battle after the orcs...

After that they encounter with the Dorn refugies was the best role play of the campaign.  Each player find a way to help the Dorn.  They gave them a lot of there extra equipement, healing and food (throwing axe, 10-15 days of food, javelin, bow...).  The elf chaneller also give a little performance.  They also gave the indication to go to Silver vein and Gareth decide that he will be travelling now that he doesn't have to bother about food for a time.

After the first night the children told the PCs that they notice some wolfs.  It's gave a lot of discussion of what to do...stay another night, leave immediatly...they decide to stay for the night.  The DM decide that the astyrax did not attack...but he regret after that....maybe it will have give a good moment of tension...but Jael told them not to attack...

The Dorn leave the other day for Silver vein and the PCs leave for Erethor.  They found the dwarven marks and explored the trail and finally found the door.  The door was lock by a strange dwarven puzzle.  The goal of the puzzle was to made a dwarf escape the orcs (actually I use the puzzle game Rush Hour).

We left the game on the opening of the door.

DM exprerience :

- I found a little difficult to run the game with a lot of NPC like that (Dunken, Wendell, the 3 elfs).  If I run again I think I will drop Dunken and Wendell.

Question :

- How do you manage the covenant items.  Right now, the 2 urutuks are not really use.  I'm pretty sure that in a classic D&D game the PC will sell it to buy something that better fit there needs.  Do you permit to sell covenant items ?  How much does it's worth ?  Do you do like a classic D&D game and gave them the list  of all the covenant item and let them choose in that list ?  I was wondering that because when they will reach the dwarven clan they will make a move on that I'm pretty sure.

Next game :

I prepare some encounter in the underdark with some grimlocks who are trying to find an old Izrador statue.  Any idea of effect if the PC destroy the statue ?  Or if they destroy it...

Also, I got some rat men - rogue...a bless fountain (maybe power nexus also) and some fire drake...

I have take this encounter in my the necromancer games adventure Lost city of Barakus.

My PC explore the underdark and found the HQ of a band of rogue ratmen.  Because the group got no rogue they trigger the trap that ring a bell.  They also got to break the door because they cannot unlock it.  The face a 3 rogue level 1, 1 rogue level 3 and 2 warriors.  Originally it was suppose to be wererat but with the DR 10/silver I change it for ratmen.  It's was not a bad idea because they got problem with the door who only got a DR of 5  Smiley  One of the PC was drop to -7 when he was flank by 2 rogues but they manage to win the combat.

After that they decide to return to the surface to continue to the west.  The game finish when they spot the orc caravan with 65 orcs...

This game give us on of the wierdest moment...

When they see they cannot match the orc caravan they decide to turn back.  They were in a canyon and can only go back.  Near the dwarven passage they spot another group of orcs with 2 worgs travelling in the other way.  They were trapped.  They decide to take the passage to the underdark.  The sarcossans PC need to sacrifice is horse because he was to big to acces the underdark... Sad

I made them travel kilometers under the mountain to give illustrate it's was really big.  I prepared some encounter but I made the dwarven way safe.  They explore a grimlock cavern but when the scout spot the grimlock (to far for the scent) the other PC decide to came back on the dwarven way...

Finally to make thing more realistic I decide to put some mushroom into one of the cavern.  The PC decide to sleep there.  Also I decide to put some orts (4) but I made them herbivore because I don't want them to attack the PC but just add some flavor...the scout (Hanzo) decide to caress (I don't know if I can say that in english) one of the orts...the orts bite the PC for 9 HP of dammage.  The orts manage to drop the scout to 0 HP Smiley Really one of the strangest moment in our game of D&D...but I'm sure it will give some good role play when they will reach Pardrum Holfast and they will see some domestic orts Smiley

The session end on the umber hulk encounter...

I think the word you're looking for is "pet" which is similar to "stroke".  "Caress" implies a level of intimacy.

Still, it sounds like a funny encounter. Like trying to pet a wild bobcat and getting bitten for it.

Thanks for the continued glimpses of your campaign! Keep them coming!

This happened last spring.

The PC continue their walk into the underdark...and run accross the Umber Hulk.  The scout went to check the cavern.  Is hide check was pretty good but the Umber Hulk got treamer sense...a big combat begin and with the gaze of he monster the chaos was rising between the PC.  The Umber Hulk decide to jump over the hedge but fall down (I roll a 1 on the d20) 100 feets. Badly hurt he dig down an escape route.

After one or two days of rest the PC return.  The scout did not learn is lesson and was spot by the treamor sense of the beast.  A fierce combat took place.  One of the PC fall but ultimately they won the battle.

One session 2 combat with an Umber Hulk Smiley

Tomorrow will be the first game of the new season.  This will be the meeting with the dwarf.

The last 2 games introduce the people of Padrum.

After healing there injury from the Umber Hulk the PC travel again into the underdark.  After a trek of 5 hours the found a stairecase that lead lead to something very special.  A big city in a huge cavern.  The cavern was light by some crystal on the ceiling.  Big column support the cavern ceiling.  The city is obviously a dwarven city but the city is in ruin.  On one side of the city they can see a big lake.

They also hear the sound of metal on metal and some dwarven war cry.  They approch and see 2 dwarfs figting 12 orcs.  They take position on the  roof on the building as Hanzo (the defender) sneak near the orcs.  They manage to kill 10 of the orcs pretty easely with there arrow and Hanzo that always return in the shadow after striking is opponement (thank to is Speed Training ability).  One of the dwarf fall in combat but is friend stabilize it after dealing with orcs.  But 2 orc troppers take cover in a house.  Those 2 give more trouble to the PC.  The DM got is revenge on Hanzo when is orc toke 1 BaB of power attack and strike a critical hit for 26 HP of damage  twisted  Hanzo got 25 HP...he fall  twisted

After the combat, the PC spot a guy on a rooftop.  No one know but this was the new PC of one of the player (he was playing a temporary PC).   Everyone was really surprised when the player begin to talk and not the DM.  Is character got really poor stats then is using is bluff and diplomacy check.  He is playing a kind of gollum in the sense that he is use is abilities by giving compliment to people ("your a excellent warrior", "oh magic...your are pretty powerful") to gain them on is side.  He's aiming the collaborator prestig class.  With is Pureblood heroic path it's a strange mixed.

Fallace (Chaneller 1/ Rogue 1)
Race : Erenlender (but if ask said he is a Dorn)
Heroic path : Pureblood

This give us a lot of good role play.

After that they moved to Padrum and again a lot of good role play.  The game end with the begining of the pit fight.

By email the player that play Fallace use all of is skill (gather info, diplomacy) to gain information...pretty cool...

For the next session I planned an encounter with a gang of grimlock and a legate which are doing business.  The grimlock will be trying to "sell" a statue of Izrador against a trip to Theros Obsidian.  The PC will overhear the conversation...will see...

The PC partialy miss this encounter before.  They were supposed to meet the grimlocks during the time they were diging the statue.  But they were not spot and decide to continue there road in the underdark.

The pit fight give a good combat.  I put 1 ogre and 2 goblins against my 4 players.  The ogre got a chance to deliver a good swing of his great club on the head of Hanzo the defender.  The goblin stay close to the ogre to get the protection of his reach.  Finally the crowd was happy by the victory of the PC.

When they were ready to leave Padrum the lore master want to meet them.  It give a good moment of role play as I give the choice of the color of the stone for each player (it doesn't change anything but my player didn't know).  Some player got a dark past and I give a little information to the other players...

On the road to the plain the were witness of a strange meeting.  A grimlock want to trade a big statue of Izrador to a legate (named Falchage.  One of the player know him).  Finally the player find this encounter to risky and they flee without a fight.

They finally made there way to the plain. The dream of Aradil give a chance for some good discussion.

The found the halfing camp that the orcs as attack.  Sadric (member of the white mother tribe) was interoggate.  The player use a strategie for the interrogation that surprise me a little.  Two of the players said to the orc that they are agent of shadow.  The succed to got information on the warband but after that they decide to kill the orc.  Fallace (the futur collaborator) know that some orc got a white tattoo in the hand.  He doen't know that the white mother tribe but an orc with the same tatoo save is life.  Unfortunalty he think about that after the dead of the orc.  Sadric got this tatoo.

In my game the member of the white mother tribe got this tattoo.

After some discussion the PC decide to follow the trail of the orcs.  After a few day they spot some smoke ahead.  Hanzo the defender decide to scout the orc camp.  He spot 2 tents, 1 goblin rider on is wolf, 2 orcs 4 boros and 30 halfings.  In reality the camp host 3 orcs recruits, 3 orcs scouts, 3 goblins riders (Fgt1/Bar 2) with there wolf and 1 oruk (Fgt1).  They discuss the right strategy to use against this warband. The decide to use entangle and put fire on the tents.  This strategy work pretty well as the majority of the orcs didn't wear there armor because they were asleep (during the day).  The oruk fall but raise again as a fell...the PC don't really understand what happen...

I got a real pleasure with the goblin.  All the PC think they were easy target...but when on player make a critical of 15 HP and the goblin did not fall...but rage and hit...Smiley

They continue there way to the east.  They are heading to Mekinos, a small city on the edge of the river.  Hanzo came from that city were a farm is hiding a resistance cell.

On the way they find a small stone building.  The scout (Hanzo again) fall directly into the arms of an assassin vines.  But he manage to escape the grapple and the entangle...In the building was some halfings tombs.  All empty.  Under the building was a steel door.  The door was lock with a puzzle lock (a sokoban puzzle. Level 1, 3 and 5).  I think the player like this change of mood.  Behind the door was a little garden light by a daylight spell.  A fountain was in the middle of the room and as a fruit three.  A statue of a dwarf and an halfing stand in the fountain.  The water cure 2d8+6 hit point and the fruit give 1 con point for 48 hours.  Also it's a power nexus.  I didn't detail it because no one got item creation feat.  They put as many water as they can before leaving.

Again a few day in the plain...and they meet the sarcossan riders.  Because there was a sarcossan in the group and the dworg in not playing anymore this encounter was a friendly one.  The made some trade and the sarcossan rider offer to give a ride to the PC.

Next session Mekinos.
