Here's my immediate wants...
- The Obsidian Spire (portions of the Dead Marshes)
- The Hamlet (Academy of the Whisperer)
- Three Oaks
- Zorgetch
- The Keep of the Cataracts
- Sharuun
- Alvadera
You know what would be REALLY neat - not so much a city but some of the battle lines...
- the Burning Line seiges
- the seige on the Darkening Wood (involving Three Oaks)
I also really wanted to see some of the North March cities. The most interesting to me are:
- Cale (another ruined city similar to Cambrial in a way)
- Skyrfell Pike (where Roland's Raiders hide)
Also another large city like:
- Erenhead
- Caradul
It'd also be fun to see a Dwarven City, one under heavy seige (Calador) and one less so (Lardun?)
you rock Dain.

I would love to have Sikverthorn, I am elaborating on it for my game and a map would be excellent, another great potential would be Caradul, which is a treetop city spanning thousands of maudrial trees, with either of those I suppose we could have a large potential of use as well, being pretty well detailed cities in the books, and all important to their region.
In fact by doing Caradul you can end up doing any number of elven villages, cities and towns by adjusting proportions and removing the elder tree. So it could be an interesting base work to either go with the largest possible or with a smaller one.
Silverthron demands a side view though, at least I believe it does.

Well ... too much thing to do
i first think about drawing something different. So Alvedara and Sharuun are out. As a result, i would like to draw a elven city (or just a big maudrial). The problem is I never did it before. We will see what can i do. I will probably need your help.
Once I succeed to find a good style in showing properly trees and other vegetations, we could think about drawing a big elven city, why not Caradul itself!
In the mean time, I want to draw a tower (like the obsidian spire). It's really easy and i shouldn't spend too much time on it.
I will start tomorrow
Resume: Obsidian spire and elven trees!

There is a section in Fury of Shadow on the Obsidian Spire.
The main descriptions are a black spire shouting up from the glades. Nif and myself have talked about it alot, adding some ideas...

The Obsidian Spire rests within the Dead Marshes, that is inside the Druid's Swamp. There is a big overall map of the area at the end of Fury of Shadow. I scanned it for my home use and you can see it on my campaign wiki at:
http://wiki.rpg.net/images/c/c1/Map-of-Druids-Swamp.gif
The Dead Marshes are basically the type of swamp that you'd picture in florida or New Orleans, little dry land, mostly polling in a boat. The Sinishter Glade where the Spire is would be more shallow (see below for more).
At the heart of the Dead Marshes, rising out of a wide clearing of brackish pools (the Sinister Glade) eminates a sickly light, illuminating the eerie chill mists over the glade. Something seems reptillian about the black scales.
The Spire itself grows out of a massive ancient tree route. The tree forms the base of the spire that digs with it's twisted roots into a solid formation build of obsidian stone. Like the tree burst up through the stone. The stone base is actually an inverted pyramid that reveals only 5-10' of it's angled bottom that buries into a deep murky moat surrouding the spire. (it's build like a fortress since it's a Lich's lair).
The black scale-like obsidian juts up out of the "natural" tree portions into the sky at crooked angles nearer the base then growing nearly a 1/4 mile into the sky to be seen in the distance for at least a mile away.
From the book it notes a massive stinking swamp surrounding it making it dangerous for anyone to enter. Similar to the Dead Marshes that are shown in the Lord Of the Rings - Two Towers movie, the one that Gollum guides Frodo/Sam through. This area is called the "Sinister Glade". This glade bleeds the stench of death and corruption. From a mile away the beat of a monsterous heart is FELT rather than heard, growing louder as you cross the glade. It surrounds the Spire in all directions. I'd say a mile or more. There is apparently only ONE safe path through this glade, but it could be neat to show multiple paths that others have tried to take (like a maze) with only one being real. This beat in the glade acts as a "Cause Fear" spell DC15, when you first see the spire. Within the glade the sickening/chill mist provides concealment and the Stinking Cloud effect (fort DC17). If one finds themselves falling in they are facing the Bottomless Bog, which is why the ONE path across is extremely important. It is "patrolled" by Maelgral Orcs hiding in the glade, seeking to trip passersby into the bog. [Fury p. 50]
I have many ideas for the insides of the spire... it's levels and the inverted pyramid below as well as a secret underground cavern complex that can be an alternative entrance...
If you wanna chat more about it just email me.
hope that helps.
Thanks for working on the Spire. It's going to come in BIGTIME in my game next Saturday!

Great, i will use that
Just a thought. Are caverns be a good idea within a swamp? I mean, the ground is supposed to be very watery and i wonder if caverns can be just possible. Maybe, if they are very deep. What do you think?

I kinda thought the underground "caverns" would be the tree roots.

no worries,
By the way, i've just found the map of the obsidian spire in the fury of shadow box set.
So, there is an official obsidian spire art work.
I'm wondering the benefit to draw another art work
Didn't you like it?

Not sure I'm familiar with what you're talking about... Unless it's the big map that I posted a link to here...
Is there one I missed?

There is a booklet inside the Fury box that has maps, one of them is for the Obsidian Spire. though it is not very detailed and the printing is too dark (im my copy at least).

CRAP!
There is??
I've seperated (misplaced) all of the materials from the box set. If there was a solitary map book I'm missing it.
Unless the "map book" you're talking about, and the Spire's map is THIS one:
http://wiki.rpg.net/images/c/c1/Map-of-Druids-Swamp.gif
Let me know.... I'd hate to have to go buy the thing again, but I'd like to have it that much...
thanks folks

I felt the obsidian spire was a good way to try to draw with another style.
Let me know if you like that
It' just a sketch, don't be too hard with it ... and me
Forget the house beside the tower, just a trial for further village art works
I didn't erase it in order to let you see what can i do. I would like to draw somethig about the crescent tower in Cambrial ...
Right clic to show the picture in full size

They look good, both of them, the only thing that puzzles me is why you did not choose a source of lighting when doing them.

Well, i wondered how could light reach this place within the sinister glade. More, Can it be reflected over the black scale-like obsidian stone?
I feel Fog should surround the tower and stop all the light. That improve the bad feeling of the place, i think.
I imagine there is no direct shadow. The swamp is dark, no sun can be seen, so neither real light nor shadow, just an glaucous atmosphere, like during twilight.
I plan to add more tortured trees around and some piece of the swamp, stagnated water and other rotten roots. Well, this is the goal! i don't know i I will succeed

I had to stop working on the obsidian spire art work until this one is finished, for an adventure challenge.
I 'm ready to work on the obsidian spire, now

Yeah, I knew those, they are good, but they do not seem much like how Midnight would have them, in Midnight the elven villages are usually hidden, the walkways and houses are made out of the very trees most of the time, and the trees are huge,, making theirs copses and trunks helpful in hiding the settlements.
Overall Midnight has more magic in the elven ways of building villages than we cn see in those maps.
