Well, I figured I'd toss this up. Ladies and gentlemen, legates and channelers, I give you: The Midnight Iron DM.

What is this?

This is a friendly competition in which DMs will strive to outshine each other in creating short adventures for the amusement and entertainment of us all. In the end, if this game is successful, we will be sitting on our own little campaign arc, as well as a horde of other adventures.


RULES

Each round, the victor of the previous round will present the participants with a handful of (2-5) ingredients that must be included in an adventure. All ingredients must be included. For the first bout, I will present the recipe.

For ease of judging, as well as accessibility, all entries are required to be between 200 and 500 words long. Tight copies that get the message across are what counts. Individual DMs usually possess the ability to create ambiance themselves. Still, write complete sentences.

The adventure should be scalable up or down two levels. This first adventure should therefore be an option for anyone between 1st and 3rd level. It must also be generic or open enough to allow a wide mix of character types to be able to participate.

The adventure must be submitted by the deadline. Threads will be locked at that point, and no further posting will be allowed. Multiple entries are allowed.

Further, all entries are required to include the following:

Title
The bold text says it all. A good header is a good thing.

Synopsis
This is the main part. A short description of the adventure, and what is expected to happen. The synopsis should include an introduction, the plot, short descriptions of encounters, and at least one possible ending.

Appendix
Short descriptions of important NPC, items, and other miscellaneous points of interest. Game-mechanics should be as limited as possible.


WINNING
Once all adventures have been submitted, a poll will be set up where everyone is free to vote for the adventure of their choice. The voting will be open for 48 hours, before a victor is declared.


PROGRESS
Once the first bout is done, the victor presents new ingredients. Participants are now faced with a new challenge: They must tie their adventure in with the previous one. Failure to do so results in disqualification. Adventures do not have to possess a coherent plot, it must simply be easy to string them together.
