I remember a revised Dorn floating around on the old forum. Where someone'd thought the dorn was too weak (I agree) and given him a few small extras. Now I can't find this anywhere, does anyone have a copy of exactly what the dorn was given to make them on par with sarcosans and erenlanders?

*4 ranks on any Craft or Profession skill.
*+2 vs Fear.
*+2 on Intimidate checks.

Me thinks...

I still disagree on the 4 ranks of Craft / Profession. Dorns idolise warriors, not workers - giving them that enfringes on the one thing that makes Erenladners half-way unique. The Fear and Intimidate bonuses are fine, and I also tend to let them pick a general bonus feat rather than fighter-only.

It was I, and what Bleak said covers most of it. Add in: -2 Int changes to -2 to any one attribute. Free weapon feat changes to one free feat.

Don't Sarcosans also get 4 ranks in a Craft? After all, if you can't work, you don't live. As much as that may have been true before the end of the Third Age, it's an absolute necessity now. If you don't provide value to a northern community, you don't live very long.

Nope.

Eh. I think Int is definitely the most appropriate stat for Dorns to lose, and I certainly can't see it being right for them to take a Con hit. -2 to any Mentals tat might be an acceptable compromise.

-2 Dex seems pretty plausible too. Big, hulking guys, those Dorns...

Hey, Ryan suggested the floating -2. Wink I just latched onto it because I don't think Dorns are stupid.

I think I gave my Sarcosans +4 Craft ranks. Don't remember...

Okay, I think BK gave me the answer I wanted in post one.
Making the bonus feat general, and also making the stat-penalty floating is something I'm already using.

As for ranks in craft or profession, somehow I think everyone should get this in some way, because it would be a rare thing not to learn a craft or a profession in a medieval society. I know this was unique for erenlanders in base MN, but it's not a big deal for me to keep this unique for erenlanders, they're powerfull enough by their flexibility and vast amount of free skill-points to warrant granting the ability to just about anyone else, at least the dorn who's pretty poor off RAW.

Yeah, that was the end up result, I believe.

Give it to the urban Sarcosan too, I'd say.

Sarcosans already gain a +2 to both cha and int, if you figure the +2 cha, -2 wis to be their normal bonus/penalty then the +2 int they gain would alone enable them to put max ranks in a craft or profession the dorn only gains 4 free ranks in. Or something along those lines.

Bah, even if I were making a Sarcosan I'd never max out a craft or profession unless it was for alchemy, charms or herbalism. And them getting a net +2 in stats (along with the gnomes), is a separate problem alltogether come to think of it. 4 free ranks to urban sarcosans it is, probably.
