Using Midnight as a Base but in Need of a 'Cleric' class
«

When I first discovered Midnight I was excited and thought it was perfect for campaign I'm putting together... yet there's the issue of a cleric. As everyone here well knows there are no clerics, as there are no other gods but one, his servents the legates are the clerical priests of the land.
Yet I am only using the Midnight setting for rule mechanics for a low magic Pathfinder campaign. Honestly I would like the equivalent of clerics, especially those the possibility of having access to domains. Now having such will not be as major as for some campaign as well be relatively few deities, but I would still like to give my players the choice of playing such.
There will be two major deities, that of the sun and moon, plus one deity to be their adversary. There may be a couple of lesser deities a part of the pantheon but any others will be that of other races or a couple of cults.

If you're using Pathfinder and don't want to use Clerics, the Oracle is a great class, as it the Inquisitor.

Actually I do want clerics, I just want them to follow after a similar vein as channellers. Perhaps like how the channeller covers druids, bards/sorcerers, and wizards this class can cover clerics, oracles, and inquisitors/paladins.

well, there IS the legate NPC class,
but I think I'd rather go with a Channeler, Spiritual tradition,
and I'dd add/change tradition gift to refelct Cleric Domains and powers
from there you can also add the Faithful Heroic path...

Perhaps, but remember the Spiritual tradition takes from the druid spell list so we would need to divide it up. I purpose the below:
Channeler Traditions: Hermetic (takes from wizard spell list, Charismatic (takes from Bard spell list), Shamanic (takes from Druid spell list), Faithful (takes from Cleric spell list), Bloodline* (takes from Sorcerer bloodlines and spell list)
*Because I have a player who wants to play a sorcerer.

well I don't really remember this as a matter of fact
as far as spell selection is concerned, channelers choose from the schools of magic they have taken,
and tradition does not say which school they can or cannot take
Channeler mechanic is pretty close to Sorcerer in fact, so I guess your best choice is to take powers from domains and bloodlines and make them into alternate tradition gifts

Hmm, then I wonder where I got the idea the spiritual channeler a drew from the druid spell list. No, I am pretty sure as legates draw from the cleric list, hermatic from the wizard list, charismatic draws from th bard list, and the spiritual from the druid list... or at least I think I got this from the books, maybe I'm just mading an incorrect assumption.

There are at least two alternate Legate classes floating around the forum. Both are cool and make me itch to use them (if i ever get to re-run/start my Fouling Stone campaign):
Bleak Knight's
- Two classes actually (Legate and Soldie Legate), making the classes tier powers, and using "Divine Energy" to power spells.
Doomed Hero's
- Pathfinderized Legate and Inquisitor classes, with a feat-based casting for the Divine caster... still Vancian though

I kinda like Vancian casting for Cleric types. The idea that they prey ahead of time for their power makes some sense.

I will be leaving my blending of Midnight rule mechanics and Pathfinder campaign for another group as one of my players pretty much threw a fit and threatened leave since I said we're playing Pathfinder yet now revealed I was considering using different rules and (or so she feels) gimping the wizards.
--------------
I would still like to come up with a way of having playable (nonevil worshipping) clerics using feat based spell casting and also paladins... though I may have a few ideas in just getting rid of their spellcasting.

Wizards aren't gimped. They're just different.
You might consider showing her the Channeler class Hit Dice, Skills, Proficiencies and Base Attack.
Channelers are more like druids than wizards. Sure, there's a little less casting to go around, but they can do a lot more things other than just cast spells.
