I recently started up a game for a group that was really keen to try Pathfinder, but I wanted to run the Midnight setting.

Solution? Make a conversion! Obviously the biggest change between Midnight and Pathfinder is magic, so my conversion is focused on that. It also comes with the (assumed) limitation that divine classes (such as Paladin, Cleric, Oracle, Inquisitor) are prohibited. I didn't feel the need to explicity say it when I was making the conversion, but Druids are now spiritual casters. It would logically follow that Rangers are spiritual casters, but in game I left my ranger player free to pick their style of casting once they are able to cast spells (as if they had bought the Spellcasting feat).

So yeah, check here if you want to see the details. Also commenting on the doc itself should be enabled if people have suggestions or questions that make more sense in context.

Oh, and I guess this is my first post here. Been lurking for a while though!

Good stuff there. I particularly like what you've done with the charms section.

I've been working on pathfinder conversions of midnight stuff for a while now. Here's a few of the bigger threads. Feel free to steal anything you like.

Reworked Heroic Paths

New Paths

Pathfinder Channeler

Pathfinder Legate (your players will hate you)

Feat-based divine casting

Wow Doomed, those are fantastic. I wish I'd dug through the threads a bit longer and found these before I started my own conversion.

Seems like by combining a more worked-up version of my conversion (perhaps with some inline rewriting of the classes affected) and your own new classes, a fairly comprehensive Pathfinder toolbox could be put together. Then the person would have the option to either bring in new Pathfinder-appropriate Channeler classes, or simply use the existing classes and convert the magic system.

So question: Has anyone ever offered put your creations together into a nicely laid out netbook? Having them assembled into an easy-to-print booklet would make an awesome companion for Pathfinder GMs. It could be called "Path to Midnight" or something like that. I happen to be a graphic designer who's done a number of digital publications, if you'd be interested in collaborating for a bit...

I'd love that. This community has done a couple web publications expanding the Midnight setting with our collaborations (Tome of Shadows I and II), but the fellow who organized those books doesn't frequent the boards as much anymore. There's a sub-board for a ToSIII, but I'm not sure it will ever get compiled.

The main issue is that I don't consider any of my conversions to be quite finished yet. There's still a number of Paths I'm not quite satisfied with, and the Channeler is only half finished. The Shadow classes are done except for the Mother-Wives, which I'm basing on Pathfinder's Witch and Oracle classes.

I started the project when I had a lot more free time and it has unfortunately fallen by the wayside. I mean to pick it back up again once life settles a bit. Once that happens I'd love to publish a full Midnight conversion.

While not actually Pathfinder converted, I just thought I'd point out that if you like DH's work on those, you'd probably also be a fan of his (and, peripherally, my) work on this...

Paragon classes in MN.

Those things would be incredibly easy to convert to Pathfinder. Almost the only things that will change will be the names of some skills.
