Hello Everyone!

Sorry to fill up the boards with another introduction, but I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say thank you to everyone on these forums. I've sporadically found myself on here in the past, (this place is quite the handy reference tool) but didn't really feel compelled to register until recently. I've been gaming for a long time and like most of you I'm sure, I've been a huge fan of the midnight setting since I first found it a few years back. Unfortunately I was forced to relocate about a month ago and had to leave the game I was in.

Now that I'm settled in I've found that I've got all this time and no games to play, so until that changes it looks like AtS is gonna be my way of staying connected to the game.

So thanks to those who keep this place up and running, and to everyone else that makes it a cool place to gather.

Hey! I am also new! I don't even own the books, but I have seen the movie, and this stirred my curiosity.

I'd have a few questions, if you don't mind.

1. Is there a concise and complete product list out there that I can check?
2. Any chance there will ever be new stuff coming out?
3. Since I'd like to get more acquainted with the setting, is there any PBP I could join, or something alike?

I am not 100% sure if it is updated, I counted the number of books with one eye on my shelf and it matches though.

No new stuff will come out, I won't say ever because we are always a hopeful bunch, but the game already has more than enough to lasta  lifetime of play.

Doomed has a PbP if he has spots I do not know, and every now and then someone posts about starting a PbP somewhere else.

Ah, thank you very much! I think I'll look if I can get at least the core books, sooner or later.

The setting is very Tolkien-inspired, isn't it?

A defender hero certainly sounds fun, definitely different from what I was doing before. And it seems I have the time now with no other games occupying my life.

Ah, and there I am, looking to play what in my games the different parties used to refer to as a "sword collector".

In the sense that adventurers like to put swords in me. :-0


I have one question, though: Apart from the movie, is there some sort of fiction written for Midnight?

I am not of the kind that read gaming books like novels, but some campy fantasy book, why not?

Nothing that has been published aside from the setting books and a lot of fan work on the site.  Although now that you mention it, I have a vague recollection of hearing about a book being written about the Elthedar which is an ancient race that has died out in the setting. I don't remember ever being able to find it though.

Googled a bit, and indeed, it seems, the only novel out there, Paul S. Kemp's Legacy of the Elthedar,
was cancelled before publication.

Yup, the novel was cancelled. The rpg books are quite good to read though.
