"Inch towards daylight"

Oh, he knows that's really difficult, but he wants to try. I'd like to handle his intents with flashes of hope and despair... Maybe he could start to gather a group of sarcosan and dorns, maybe some erenlander... and then show him the opposing interests of the races, inner frictions...

But wait. Now that I'm thinking of, it could be possible that he want to regroup the erenlanders, under one flag. In this case, how do you think I should act?

Since the fall 100 years ago, a lot of knowledge and history has already been forgotten.  Many Erenlanders have never really known much outside of their personal lives which since they live mostly in farming land is just that.  They're farmers.  They don't want to get caught up in some fools crusade against the shadow when they know what it might very well cost them.  Many would just prefer to forget they ever met the person who started spouting nonsense and hope that their lives are not noticed.  There may be a handful of young, hot-headed, idealistic people out there who only really need an excuse such as the P.C.s showing up and talking about a revolution to throw down their farming equipment and join them because they believe the P.C.'s have all the answers.  Experienced resistance members would probably tell them to keep their head down and work slowly maybe teaching them a thing or two on how to survive in the wilderness or how to better operate in a city without being noticed or might just not say anything at all and pretend to just not be interested.  They may even try to get the P.C.'s to start something up so attention is drawn away from whatever plan they have.  It's really up to you how they act.

Yo guys, new session is starting in about 1 hour or less Smiley in the meantime, someone can tell me where I can find infos on the city of Norfall? I've searched in the manual, but I found only a brief description of the Norfall House, nothing else... Can you give me the chapter and the name of the paragraph where I can find it?

House Norfall page 169 Midnight 2nd Edition, Fallport was their seat of power, page 173. There is also Nalford on page 175 which was mentioned in a post earlier, the city that relives its end every month.

Up... new year is coming, new session is near... and I have no idea of what to do... I'm really stuck. I made the pcs travel on the shadow's territory where the channeler's master is hiding. last session was really really without any mood. I didn't manage it... It seemed to me thhe was boring... but I don't have any idea of how to go on.. they're in the shadow's shadow, to make a wordplay... but... where they go? what can they do?

Have you asked them what their goals are? At some point the characters ought to become self motivated. It's good for the GM to kind of drag them along behind the plot at the beginning, but it's a good idea to pass the reigns to them after the setting and the characters have been established.

It's totally ok to just tell your players that you aren't sure what to do next with the game. Bring them into the creative process. Let them start driving the story direction.

Have you figured out the story you are trying to tell your players?  It sounds like your players are already trying to figure out how to drive the story along on their own which is great, but it's usually a good idea to have your world being set up in the beginning stages.

As for helping with getting rid of boredom here are some tricks and tools of the trade beyond paper, pencil and dice:

Mood music;  If you have a computer or an i-pod or a stereo system having mood setting music on low volume in the background can really help immerse your players in the moment.

Seating arrangements;  If you're gaming group is spread out than it's generally a little bit harder to keep their attention on the game, bring them in closer and it will help keep them focused.

Maps;  Nothing tells other people that 'I spent time working on this for you' like having maps drawn out.  They don't have to be too detailed, a couple of buildings, some land marks and other various features will go a long way in keeping your players interested.  Miniatures if you have them can be a great addition to this as it adds a sense of scale and allows the player to move how they want.

One of the best ways I like to get my players interest when I'm running a game is to throw them into an encounter that is not an easy hack and slash situation.  Your group is in Northern Erenland where the shadow's presence is heaviest and very few allies can be found.  If they have not made it to the Channelers master then have them run across a shadow hunting party led by a Witch Taker Legate who is on the Masters trail.  He should have an escort of Orcs, Wargs and maybe some Wildlander Sniffer Goblins.  Make it large enough that attacking it would seem foolish but not too large to be overwhelming.  Turn it into a chase scene.  Example; they are four days away from the masters hiding place and the Shadows minions will reach it first unless they hurry.  Give them a chance to make either a fairly difficult Survival check, D.C. 20, or an easier D.C. 15 Knowledge Local(Northern Erenland) to know that two days away the ground turns to low rolling hills and there is a small ice glacier canyon that is the quickest way through and they may be able to collapse to slow the patrol down or if they are willing to take the risk collapse on top of them.  The first problem is trying to get ahead of the patrol before they reach the glacier.  Give the patrol spot checks to notice them, then if they manage that there will be survival checks to notice that there is another group ahead of them, which between the Witch Taker Legate and the Sniffer Goblins that will almost certainly be the case.  A way to make the scene more tense is either when the Legate notices the group or gets past the glacier and is only two days away from the Channelers master he orders the group to begin force marching and suddenly the four day chase is now only a three day chase.

If they already found the Channelers Master and are still with him/her then the patrol could just as easily show up and then they would have to fight them.  Though they would most likely be fatigued from the forced march.  Another idea is the patrol could have caught on to their trail and began to chase after them, which could lead nicely into the adventure supplement called "Knowledge is Power" which can be found in the downloads section on the site.

Not a huge amount on it tbh - Campaign Setting p. 175, or Honor & Shadow p. 29 for a little fluff piece about it.

Basically, it's a largely abandoned ruin, and once a month the ghosts of it's dead defenders return to refight their final battle.
