Well now that it seems the heroes are not going to be fighting to cut my rope life line from up above me and drop me into the fell fire pit, (although the idea of playing a suped up, Divinely empowered, fire Fell sounded intriguing,.)

The only thing that Riddar is going to do is keep barking orders at the Bugbear to lower him and the Dwarf down more quickly, and if the Dwarf is about to get away, cut his rope. Otherwise, he is just going to go down to where he can light a fell fire torch/lantern and get pulled up and watch the Dwarf burn from a safe distance. As far as he is concerned the experiment can either reveal something about the necromantic conflux or not. He'll figure it out one way or another when he meets up with Jael again.

Know what's bad for Climb and Acro checks?

Armor Check Penalty.

Riddar's first attempt to grab the dwarf's rope is a no-go.

Anyone else have an action before I continue?

Not really, Clouse and the rest are going to secure the doorway and stop the other from making any more stupid moves. Unless Riddar yells out for them they are going to take a bit.

The bugbear is also holding action and awaiting orders. If Riddar tells him to he will simply drop the dwarf in, better yet he will tie the end he is holding to a rock and throw the rock in... but really only until Riddar tells him to, he isn't that bright.

Riddar doesn't care about experimenting at this point and is calling for aid, his also casting Spiritual Weapon. The description mentions it attacking creatures but I don't see why it couldn't just go after an object or more specifically the rope. Comes out as a Longsword, and does 1d8+1. Attacking at +8. It pretty much can't fail to cut the rope which has 2 hp.

Otherwise it attacks the Dwarf who loses his Dex bonus to AC, assuming he had one.

Would knowledge of a Necromantic conflux be under Religion or Arcana? Or both at differing bits about it? I'm guessing Riddar knows enough about them to guess they have strange effects on the undead.

That said, he is not allowing the Dwarf to go down and die in the flames alone. He is in fact sending the blade down after him since it can't be destroyed by flames and having it hack at the Dwarf, dead or not. Until it's duration is finished.

He is then climbing down to finish the mission by lighting the torch/lantern.

I'm sorry about posting but it's crunch time for the next week or so. I am managing two network affiliate station websites and now I'm building a third for the other two to consolidate to by myself. So I am going to be doing 15 hour days for a while

Hmm? Thought I was pretty clear on my earlier post from Wednesday.

Riddar is directing the sword to follow down and hammer the Dwarf as long as the spell lasts, then his is climbing down the rope and getting a Fell Fire torch before attempting to climb and/or be pulled back up.

Good, now Riddar just has to be pulled up and then he will move his squad out of the smoking hall to recover before he goes to meet Jael.

He will be likely be dealing out punishments for disobeying his orders later.

Riddar is burning an action point to add to his climb skill and is attempting an accelerated climb.

Full Plate is normally a -6 armor check penalty, his armor training reduces this to -5. I don't think it was Master Work full plate so no help there. His strength is currently boosted and he is trained in climbing with a total of +10. He is down to a +5 bonus but with the -5 from accelerated climbing this brings it down to 0, so it's down to a dice roll with a bonus of +1d6 from the action point and possibly a penalty as he is not letting go of the fell torch.

I'll throw in a karma roll, currently +0, to hope the rope doesn't burn too fast or catch fire from the fell torch.

Clouse will have the bugbear swing Riddar over to the try to grab on to the other rope (The one he cut the dwarf loose from), while Clouse sends York down to help (He has a climb speed).

Oh year and Clouse is granting them all an extra move action to help this go.

Whew, that was close. Thought I was about to lose Riddar and become some fiery monstrosity.

So I was thinking about it and I realized there are a great many more resources laying around than I realized. Largely due to players who were here but seemed to have dropped out.

I think after Riddar talks to Jael, he's going to requisition the sisters aid. General aid for Clouse's men to help speed their recovery from the poisonous smoke, one specifically for a Reward for Clouse due to his excellent service thus far and one for Mercy for Xein's disobedience.

Oooh, now that is awesome! Way to go Clouse! Our first addition to the Book of Relics in a long time.

Now if only Riddar hadn't sunk feats into using a Great sword. Oh well, I think this should be Clouse's weapon since it was his idea. Unless of course we think a real melee bruiser should have it.
