We stand together, against the shadow.

Fantasy Flight Games passed along a look at the Destiny of Shadow cover as well as the product text for Destiny of Shadow.

Destiny of Shadow

Deep in the heart of Shadow-occupied territory, a legend slumbers. Hope lies hidden within the hearts of those without land or honor, without history or faith. And waiting for the Shadow, in its not-too-distant future, is destiny.

Destiny of Shadow delves into the forgotten, ignored, and underestimated Erenlanders. They dwell beneath the Shadow's rule, living their entire lives in servitude and degradation. They barely put up a fight when Izrador’s forces conquered their lands, and the Erenlanders are now seen as utterly beaten, trudging about their work with bowed heads and empty hearts. Yet their land is the soft underbelly of the enemy, the place where the Shadow's minions have become the most complacent, and where the people have nothing to lose. It is a place ripe for rebellion. And it is here that the Hidden King, returned from exile, is gathering support to move against the foe.

Destiny of Shadow continues the gazetteer exploration of Eredane, highlighting the supposedly occupied and hopeless lands in the center of the continent. This 64-page supplement examines the history of this besieged land, focusing on the invasion that spelled its doom. The book also contains detailed information about the people and places of Erenland, both those previously known and those who have heretofore remained hidden. Finally, Destiny of Shadow offers new feats, spells, and prestige classes unique to Erenland to enhance players' experiences.

Hiding from Shadow

I'm really eager to put my hands on this one, especially if it manages to depict life in occupied Erenland in a vivid way.

I suppose the focus is on the Erenlanders themselves, but let's not forget that gnomes and halflings also live in this territory, and the "little people" beg for their own supplement... ;-)

Just my two cents though.

Keep up the good work FFG!

I second smeagol all the way, this teaser makes me really impatient about this gazeteer. Erenland is a central  area for the Midnight history and has a HUGE potential for great adventures. And this "return of the High King" thing ...it's inspiring!

The only thing i hope is that halflings and gnomes (with elflings/dwarrows) will have "their" book.

There are simply too much things to describe about this fascinating cultures, and my halfling player will tear me apart if it's not the case^^.
And you don't want a halfling to tear you with his (well here, her) little hands Grin. Small is beautifull but dangerous^^.

I doubt we will see a book for the smaler folk, while Midnight market appears to be made msotly of DM purchases, there are player purchases driving the supplements so the less common player choices will hardly ever get a chance to shine in a book of their own, I expect them to appear on this book though with smal bits around it.

Would be nice to have a book called Tamed by Shadow though, gnomes are sort of "tamed" and halflings too, both in two oposite ways, and in the end, both are not tamed at all. Wink

I think that this is the book that most people have been waiting for since it was decided that they would do a book for each region/race.

With regards to the Gnomes and Halflings, i think that it is more likly that if they are covered it will be in their own book, along with the other Cross-breeds possably entitled "The Forgotten Shadow"

We still would need half of the elves, the dorns, the halflings, the gnomes and all major races would be deealt with, we already have a martial and magic supplement, we will need a sneaky and survival one, maybe as separate ones. And this is following WotC's pattern.

What I hope they do is hire smeagol to define what books they wil be doing and stick to that. Wink
