The Broodlings of Nagoth

Harrowed, you asked for a smaller version of the Brood of Nagoth, so here they are. The biggest differences between the Broodlings and the Brood beside the lower hit dice and damage are the lack of carapace, lower DC to escape its frightful presence, and the addition of the Rage ability. No story this time, but I did add a different description. You’ll have to wait for next week’s creature for a full story write-up.

They came swarming out of the darkness, pincers flailing as they climbed over each other to get to our lines. Easily a dozen, pitch black, with glowing eyes, I could feel our line starting to waver even before they made contact.
Hidden in the dark recesses of the Northern Kaladruns is the foul nest of Nagoth, a shadow spawn of immense power. Once every five years, Nagoth lays dozens of eggs in a nest made from the carrion of orcs, dwarves, and the various beasts that call the Kaladruns home. Less then half the eggs hatch and some who are born are so hideously malformed that they survive less then a day, eaten by Nagoth or one of the other hatchlings. The broodlings mature quickly, reaching the first stage of growth (6HD) in less then a year, and can reach full maturity (10HD) in three years.
Thankfully, very few broodlings reach full maturity. Competition for food, lack of cooperation, and Nagoth’s own never ending hunger, winnow the weakest of the hatchlings early in life. Nagoth is not a nurturing parent, pushing the broodlings out of her hunting grounds shortly after birth. Immature, their natural armor (carapace) not yet fully developed; they are vulnerable to the other predators under the mountains.
Combat
: The Broodlings of Nagoth are far less capable hunters then their larger brethren. Due to their smaller size, they will often hunt in small packs trying to isolate their prey before attacking. Competition for food and kills is high and often leads to disjointed attacks and even fighting between Broodlings once their prey is weakened. Broodlings are driven by their lust for blood, and frequently become enraged causing them to fight to the death. Lacking the heavy carapace that they’ll develop with age, the Broodlings are vulnerable to all normal weapons.
Frightful Presence
(Su): The Broodlings of Nagoth can inspire terror by charging and attacking. Affected creatures must succeed on a DC 14 Will save or become shaken, remaining in that condition as long as they remain in sight of the Broodlings.
Harvest
(Su): The Brood of Nagoth can restore lost hit points by devouring the heart and liver of its victims. It regains one hit point per hit die of the victim. Removing and eating the organs is a full round action.
Rage
(Ex): The Broodlings are driven by a lust for blood and a desire to feast on the organs of their prey. This bloodlust often causes the Broodling to go into a rage (+2 morale bonus to Str and Con, +1 moral bonus to Will saves, -2 to AC), if they fail a DC 12 Will save. Once enraged, the Broodling will fight into all enemies are dead. The Broodlings are not fatigued at the end of their rage.
Rend
(Ex): If the Broodling hits a single target with both pincers in one round, it can use its unholy strength to rend apart its victims flesh inflicting 1d6+3 points of damage.
Tremorsense
(Ex): The Brood of Nagoth is especially sensitive to even the slightest of movements and can sense targets moving through or along the rock out to 60 ft.
