Whisper's Will

So, the new vibe seems to be googlewave, lots of blogs speaking of it, many people wanting to see how it works, and many of the rpg community seem to be seeking to use it to play some game.

Things is I have quite a few invites on my googlewave account right now and want to share at least 5 of those with members of the AtS community, since I haven't been around that much to throw them at people whoa have been storming the site with good stuff,  I am thinking about the following lines:

Post a new piece of coolness related to Midnight on this thread, it can be a new nexus, city, faction, NPC, adventure hook, for those who like crunch, I am going to have to say that a well developed covenant item story counts more than the actual powers, same goes for an NPCs backstory or a monster description/backstory.

If you don't want to add that kind of awesomeness you can instead propose a new Midnight game to be played through wave. Post a little campaign brief, present your idea and try to entice others, to be able to run against the other stuff I require at least 3 players to sign to your game in this thread, as an end result both you and those 3 players might get an invite if you are chosen.

The only restriction to the games is that anyone from AtS that wants to follow it must be invited to the In Character thread, myself included.

Let the games begin!

Hi, I started a Midnight game on a forum based pbp website but the players seem to have left after only a couple weeks. Assuming they don't magically reappear soon, I would be interested in trying it again on googlewave if there are people interested in playing. It was suppose to be a low level game set in the central plains. I can post more information if people are interested. I am pretty new to running Midnight and online gaming in general though, in case that is of concern to anyone.

I got the invite and it seems to be working. Thanks! I'm going to start trying to figure out how a game would actually work on there. If anyone is interested in playing let me know Smiley

Hey, guys.

I'm really interested in the gaming potential of Wave, myself.  I've been working on a couple of Midnight write-ups (NPCs, locations, and backstory), but haven't found the time to get them presentable for this thread yet.

I might be up for jumping into your Central Plains game, constant - especially if I can help figure out how to use Wave for gaming.  It'd be my first non-tabletop endeavor, however, so I'm on the slow end of the learning curve.  I've dabbled in MUDs long, long ago, but that's a totally different animal.

anyone from AtS that wants to follow it must be invited to the In Character thread

I'm not too clear on this part, Nif.  Will there be a thread for the hypothetical googlewave game?

I have wave too, and we discussed with Dain how we could use it, in fact, we are trying to figure out how to use a same document modified by 3/4 personns, (i won't tell more about it anyway....it's a surprise).

it'll be enhanced soon by an instant/perpetual save on the diverse documents you are wtih some others... imagine,; for example tomes of sorrows IV ...

i'll tell more about it when i'll dig deeper.... for an deepsea engineer it shouldn't be that hard to dig..... Wink

I have started putting some campaign information up on a few different waves. Here is the general information for anyone who might be interested in the game (this wave should be public, but I really have no idea what I'm doing so let me know if its not):
https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1#restored:wave:googlewave.com!w%252BUc2JVN8gA.17

There should be links at the top of that wave to some other information for the game but I haven't made those public. If anyone is interested in that stuff I can add you to those waves also (it is mostly just stuff I've made up for the game, such as npcs and villages in the Eastern Hills district of the central plains).

There doesn't seem to be too much interest in googlewave around here Smiley After playing around with it for a couple weeks it does seem to me to be a little buggy for running a game on at this point though. I could definitely seeing it being an awesome medium when its more finished, but for the moment I'd guess message boards or other more proven ways might be better.

But is there anyone still interested in trying a wave game out? If not, is there anyone interested in trying my game out on a message board (either here or one of the sites dedicated to message board based games)?

I'm using it for my Vampire group for between-game communications, on top of the ease of adding selective people to bits of the way and having the ability for it to roll dice is quite nifty.

Tis just a shame it doesn't stop people from editing their rolls, so currently they say what they are doing...i post the success/fail ( it supports nWoD built in ) plus the waffle that comes with it.  Isn't to replace the tabletop for our group just a nice medium to use in between sessions
