Mac1504,
So Honor squeaked in just before Xmas. I'll be interested to see how the art turned out and to get a general impression of the book. When you get a chance to read through, let me know what you think.

Amazing how it got from The Boat to your LGS without making it to FFG. Gotta love their communication system...
By all means, please do give us your impressions on the book. Some of us are
quite
curious as to how the final version looks.

I was surprised as well when I saw it on the shelf at the store. I wasn't expecting it to be out until after the New Year.
I've only made it through the first half of the first chapter. The writing seems to be on par with all of the previous works, although I've noticed quite a few grammatical and spelling mistakes so far. The artwork, I think, is excellent.
I'll give my overall impressions when I finish reading it this weekend.

While FFG has not yet updated their website, Honor is up for sale on other online gaming resource sites, such as

I hope they don't stop adding the pdfs, though they have for a while now, I really think I will be getting all the books I can in PDF sometime, for portability and quick reference it is a great tool.

Almost half a year ago I asked FFG about uploading the Destiny PDFs, and this was the answer: (thanks g-d for gmail)

The short answer is, we don't know, but hopefully soon. The person who used to handle the PDF sales left the company last year, and admittedly, it's fallen off the radar. We hope to get it up and going again soon.

Yhea,
I love many of their products... but their attention to the fans of their best running RPG line is lacking.
Edit: They didn't even place a notice that it's available on the Midnight page.

Might have changed, but last time I heard anything, FFG's entire RPG department consisted of Rob Vaughn, who now works part-time for the company. Also, Midnight isn't their best running line. It's their only running line. Still...
Anyway, Happy New Year, everyone. I know I'm not around a lot, and it sucks that my first post here in a while is a gripe/whine. I'll try to be more constructive and all that from now on. (Maybe I'll even have time to participate a bit more on the boards...)

I got my Honor yesterday!
Lots and lots of background fluff, not a lot of rules crunch, but some interesting stuff nonetheless. I'm going to start up a second Midnight group focusing on House Norfall and pirate/smuggling activities.

So, how is the art in this? How is the content? How are the mechanics in it? I won't see this baby for another month, and that is all goes well... tell me!

I'm sorry guys, my review is going to have to wait. I have a game to prepare for this coming Friday set in the Veradeen.
I can tell you that there are lots of story based and background style side boards, and the artwork is varied enough to be interesting; a couple of distinct styles, all of them really neat.
I haven't read the background on the various districts yet, but the new rules for Deprivation seem cool; things like starvation and exposure, and feats you can take to actually make those conditions work FOR you, assuming you're a Dorn wandering the tundra.

I've got it and it's fairly neat. I like the fluff on the various areas and Great Houses. I like how all the areas are described, including how they fell to Shadow. It gave me some ideas for my next adventure cycle.
I like the Deprivation rules at first glance. They'll help me some, as environmental\weather hazards and survival play a major role in my campaign. They basically do what I've already been doing per hour on a daily basis for long term "overland" travel periods.
The art is pretty solid too. I'm disappointed that there weren't any detail maps. I've used the ones in previous supplements to flesh out my own CC2 map of Eredane.
I'm disappointed that there weren't any barbarian\warrior themed Prcs. The one presented is for spiritual channellers and has influence over ancestral spirits.

I'm not overly enthusiastic about that one.
Actually i would have preferred a "district per district" description, along with maps, NPCs, and aventure ideas... But that's just me
