As the wind blows in your face and blows you cloak about you, you feel a prickling sensation in your neck and turn around. There, across the river, a tall human stands. Gray skin, black pale hair, looking at you. Something strange though, his cloak is perfectly still... his hair does not move. And then, orcs charge from both your sides...

Fades (also known as: Eyeless, and Walkers) are another abomination brought to this world by the Shadow in the North. These creatures are created with Dark Magic and infused with a portion of Izrador himself, giving them the ability to walk through shadows, control orc, and bring fear to their enemies. It is unkown how many of these creatures exist, but surely not many. They are extremly loyal to their masters, whoever these may be.

Combat: The Fades are cunning warriors. They will show great patience as commanders, but will not flinch at throwing the lives of their soldiers (Orcs usually). In a fight, they will close in on the one who seems most dangerous to them and attack him or her ferociously. Though not always will they charge ahead blindly, knowing when to use stealth if an opponent seems more than a match to them.

Blindsight (Ex): Fades have the Blindsight special ability.
Water Fear (Ex): A Fade will avoid crossing any body of water, only grudgingly corss bridges, and that also, only if it is sure that his prey is on the other side. This could be a side effect for their ability to control the Orcs.
Shadow-blade (Su): It is not sure where this blades are forged or how, but they resemble the bastard sword so favored by the Dorns. They are dull black in color, and it is rumored that blood to quench the hot metal instead of water. 2 points of damage from each wound this blade gives can be healed only through Magic or Rituals.
Disease (Su): If hit by the Shadow-blade, a character must succeed at a Fortitude Save (DC 18 ) or contract a terrible wasting disease. Incubation is one day, and it deals 1d6 points of temporary Constitution damage. Anyone but a Fade who holds the weapon must make a Fort Save each day she carries the weapon.
Fear Gaze (Su): Anyone facing a Fade within 30 ft must succeed at a Will Save (DC 16) or be Shaken for 1d6 minutes.
Vitality of Shadow (Su): A Fade that is reduced to -10 hp or less does not die until the next dawn. While he cannot recover on his own, a Fade could be rescued if brought above -10 hp by Healing magic (Divine or otherwise). Once the sun rises, a Fade with less than -10 hp us truly dead.
Orc Link (Su): Due to the fact that these creatures are infused with a part of Izrador himself, the Fades have developed the ability to tap into a more primal part of the Orcs brain and thus make the Orcs more amenable to its orders. Thus, allowing the Fade to control and coordinate the attack of a group of Orcs, having them all react on his initiative in the round.
    The Fade can control up to 20 Orcs simultaneously. Orcs of 1 HD are controled automaticaly. Orcs of 2-8 HD may resist with a Will Save (DC 17). Orcs of 8 HD and higher are immune to this effect. Dworgs are immune to the Fade's control.
    Should the Fade be killed, all Orcs who were currently linked to it must succeed at a Will Save (DC 17) or fall to the ground, and die within a few rounds, convulsion violently.
Shadow Walk (Su): The Fades are also know as Walkers, for their ability to walk through the Shadows. A Fade can Shadow Walk 200 ft. each day, dividing it however it wishes, but cannot use its own shadow for it.
